As is our tradition, we spent this past weekend in Live Oak celebrating “Christmas” with my wife’s family. I place the quotation marks because it’s obviously not Christmas yet, but this is our opportunity to get together and enjoy the company of our family prior to everyone heading home and celebrating their own traditions in their respective homes. I had full intentions of capturing a portrait of all of the grandkids but for a number of reasons, the timing didn’t work out and we didn’t get ‘er done. Regardless, my sweet little boy (decked out in rain boots and dirt, naturally) saw my lighting setup without any subjects and graciously offered to give me nearly 3 full seconds of his time to test exposure and capture this image. And I couldn’t be happier with it. Here’s my 2.5 second portrait of my stoic, pensive, and unbelievably loving son. I am blessed and I hope you’re enjoying all of your own blessings this holiday season.
